Plain answers

What you might want to know.

What counts toward my free 2 hours?

The length of the recordings SpeakSwell transcribes for you, counted from the audio, not from how long you hold the microphone. Each dictation counts as at least 5 seconds, because every request has a minimum cost to process. A dictation that fails is not counted. Your allowance renews on the first day of each month (UTC), and unused time does not roll over.

What happens when I run out?

The microphone tells you, and your recording is kept so nothing you said is lost. You can wait for the allowance to renew or upgrade to Pro and finish it right away.

What are AI Notes?

Notes records a meeting, lecture or voice memo for as long as you choose, transcribes it while you record, and writes a short summary with decisions and next steps. Every point links to the sentence it came from so you can check it. Speaker changes are estimated on your phone. Summaries can contain mistakes; review them before relying on them.

Where do I buy Pro?

In the Android app, through Google Play. On other devices, on the web: you pay by card on a checkout page run by Stripe, our payment processor. Either way Pro belongs to your SpeakSwell account, so one subscription is all you need.

How does the free trial work?

New subscribers get 7 days of Pro free. You add a payment method when you start, in Google Play or on Stripe’s checkout page, and it is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel first.

How do I cancel?

Open Account in SpeakSwell and choose Manage subscription. A Google Play subscription opens in Google Play, where you can also find it under Play Store → Payments & subscriptions. A subscription bought on the web opens Stripe’s billing page, where you can cancel or change your card. Cancelling stops the next charge, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for Google Play purchases follow Google Play’s refund policy. Web purchases are refunded by SpeakSwell to the card you paid with: email support from the address on your receipt and tell us what went wrong. If something went wrong with SpeakSwell itself, we will help wherever you bought it.

Is “unlimited” really unlimited?

Ordinary use never reaches it. To keep the service fair, dictation is capped at 25 hours a month on Pro, which is almost an hour of continuous speech every day. If you hit it, email us.

Do you keep my recordings?

No. Audio and text are sent to the speech service to be transcribed and are not saved by SpeakSwell. We keep your account, subscription status and how many minutes you used. Read the privacy policy. You can delete your account at any time.

What about Mac, iPhone and the browser?

The web app and Mac 2.2.5 and later use your SpeakSwell account and the same plans as Android. One subscription covers every device you sign in on. The separate experimental iPhone keyboard preview uses your own Groq account.
